Timor-Leste Ocean Art (TOCART), a community-based conservation organization that focuses on Sea turtle conservation and sustainable tourism.
Our mission is to "Provide Sea Turtle Rockery as Educational and Ecotourism,” our vision is to “Conserve and Protect Sea Turtle Nesting while collecting the eggs in the nesting center.”
Project Objectives:
* To work with the coastal community to promote sustainable ecotourism techniques.
* To introduce the concept of ecotourism and cultural tourism to the coastal community and work with locals to foster small businesses based on this concept.
* To contribute to preserving marine biodiversity and the ecosystem.
* To build the capacity of coastal communities to understand the importance of a healthy ocean to their economic and social well-being.
* To collaborate with Local authorities and local government to provide training for communities especially the fishermen on the coast and farmers in the mountains on how to practice their trade sustainably Framing the Issue.
