Bailar el Agua (To Dance the Water) is a project funded by Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and promoted by the cultural mediation collective Baiven in collaboration with the social sciences professional Julián Guerrero and the Institute of Sustainable Processes at the University of Valladolid, proposes to reimagine cultural relationships with water by activating popular festivals in which water plays a leading role as spaces for experimentation in the face of the water crisis. It will take place over 14 months in the Vallecas neighborhood (Madrid, Spain), around its renowned Naval Battle.
Through situated research, workshops, and cultural mediation processes, it will work with local collectives, neighbors, scientific teams, and cultural agents. The project seeks to articulate diverse knowledge to build a common language that connects art and science to transform narratives around water and build sustainable futures.
