THALASSONIA is a transdisciplinary Participatory Art Initiative that transforms locally collected marine litter into playable musical instruments. By integrating Citizen Science and Circular Economy principles, we engage the community in beach cleanups, scientific classification, and upcycling workshops. The project culminates in a public orchestral performance at Marina d'Arechi (Salerno, Italy), using art as a tool to amplify ocean literacy and drive long-term behavioral change.
Lead partner: Francesco Bottigliero (Artistic Lead)
Other partners: Mariarosaria Morelli (Scientific Lead) and Małgorzata Bottigliero (Graphics and Communication Lead).
