SUNK COSTS: The Saga of the Felicity Ace is a participatory art–science project exploring how shipwrecks, salvage, maritime governance, and ocean observation shape the contemporary blue economy. Using the 2022 sinking of the Felicity Ace near the Azores as a case study, the project brings together artists, researchers, marine technology specialists, and coastal communities through workshops, exhibitions, and public dialogue. Working with blueOASIS, Walk&Talk, and local partners, it investigates questions of responsibility, environmental risk, underwater cultural heritage, and ocean literacy while developing new ways for citizens to engage with the hidden infrastructures of the sea.
